At this year’s interlift, TÜV SÜD will present information about its international services for the lift and escalator industry. At Stand 5029 (Hall 5) at the trade show, the company will inform about its new Digital Elevator Services and quality assurance. Other topics addressed at the event will include elevator operating efficiency and certification. The trade show will be held in Augsburg from 17–20 October 2017.
“There is still an enormous need for information on the subject of digitisation of elevator operation”, notes Dieter Roas, General Manager Lifts and Cranes at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service. “Many market players are still insufficiently aware of the new risks that accompany networked systems.” Maintenance status and operating costs can be optimised by monitoring conditions of travel and components in real time once any relevant IT security or functional safety issues have been clarified. In addition, TÜV SÜD helps to save energy and supports lift operators in maintaining the quality of their lifts and components throughout the entire life cycle from development and manufacture to installation and operation to modernization. Certification of processes (ISO 9001) and products also have vital roles to play, and continuous professional development and training services are likewise important.
Global players in international markets
Manufacturers are only permitted to place their elevators and components on new markets if they can show proof of compliance with an array of country-specific requirements such as ISO, EN and AECO. Dieter Roas assures, “We already operate our own offices in the world’s central business regions, providing on-the-spot representation.” TÜV SÜD’s engineering specialists clarify the applicable local legal basis, product standards and regulations, and the state of the art for the requisite country. Their services also cover major modifications and modernisation.
