Successful homologation of the DMU Link 600-10 from PESA
Following the successful approval of the multiple unit DMU Link 600-10 by the German Federal Railway Authority (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt, EBA), supported by TÜV SÜD Rail GmbH, the first two of nine diesel multiple units manufactured by Polish manufacturer PESA have now been delivered to Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn (NEB) in fulfilment of NEB’s 2013 order.
The Bosphorus, which divides Europe from Asia, has been a central feature of the city of Istanbul for 2,500 years. A spectacular tunnel beneath the strait is currently being built to bring the two continents even closer together. Test Centre for Rolling Stock develops new testing scope: Electric arc measurement
TÜV SÜD Rail’s in-house inspection body has developed a new testing scope. In addition to its most recent scope, which deals with the dynamic interaction between pantographs and overhead contact lines, the Test Centre for Rolling Stock has now developed a second test method in conformity with the standard – electric arc measurement.
TÜV SÜD now offers IT security consulting for railway applications
TÜV SÜD is one of the first providers offering consulting in favor of IT security for electric signalling systems. The consulting is based on the IEC 62443-4-1, IEC 62443-3-2, IEC 62443-3-3, EN 50159 standard and the pre-norm DIN VDE V 0831-104. For instance, TÜV SÜD´s risk analysis combines a generic methodology with different railway-specific threat scenarios, damage classes, probabilities of occurrence or so-called security levels.
TÜV SÜD has once again been ranked among the top 100 employers for future engineers in Germany in 2016. SIGNON Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of TÜV SÜD AG, was also awarded the “Top Job” seal by zeag GmbH, a company specialising in analysis of employer attractiveness.
Railcert B.V. changes its name to TÜV SÜD Nederland B.V.
Following the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares in the Dutch rail inspection and certification organisation in 2013, the change in the company's name now marks the final step of the company's integration into TÜV SÜD's Business Unit Rail.
SIGNON Schweiz AG is now operating as TÜV SÜD Schweiz AG
The portfolio of rail services offered to SIGNON customers and fleet management services under the name of Fleet Logistics will remain unchanged. In addition, the services of SWISSI Process Safety GmbH will also be offered under the umbrella of the new company in the future. By changing the company's name, TÜV SÜD, the international provider of testing and certification services, aims to strengthen its profile and visibility in Switzerland.
UNIFE and TÜV SÜD entered a contract on the updating of the list of applicable legislation
UNIFE and TÜV SÜD have entered a contract with the purpose of providing UNIFE and its associated organisations CER, EIM, EPTTOLA, ERFA, UIC, UIOP, UITP, UIORR as well as UNIFE itself with an updated list of all applicable legislation for railway manufacturing, maintenance and refurbishment, also known as the “listing of directives relating to RFU-PLG-013”.
