On 27 March 2017, the Council of the European Union adopted an amendment to lower migration limits for lead in toys under Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC (TSD). The text adopted is identical to the amended draft Directive proposed by the European Commission (EC) in August 2016.
Once the final text is published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), the Directive will enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication.
