On 4 January 2017, Taiwan BSMI issued new standards for mandatory inspection for wireless keyboards and ninety-two other products.
The new standards specified in Section 5 regarding the marking of the presence of restricted substances to be included in the inspection rules for the products listed in the announcement No. 10530006421, 2016. The certificate holders or applicant of the products need to comply with the marking requirements and mark "the presence of restricted substance(s)" clearly on the body, stickers, packages or the instruction manual of the products. The restricted substances include lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBDEs and PBBs.
The previous standards will be invalid on 1 January 2018. Certificate holders must prepare test reports in compliance with the revised standards, documents of marking, and the "Declaration of the Presence Conditions of the Restricted Substances Marking" before 31 December 2017.
