Food packaging must comply with changing market needs and its final use while ensuring safety and technological suitability. Manufacturers and food factories must also seek worldwide acceptance of their food packaging products and materials. Currently the most used material in packaging is plastic and paper.
In this 1 hour webinar, we will highlight the main contaminants and the relevant European legislations on plastic and paper. We will also address the risk assessment necessary to verify the conformity of your product packaging.
Expert Profile: Dr. Marinella Vitulli, Laboratory Manager, pH Lab, a member of TÜV SÜD.
Dr. Vitulli has over 15 years of experience in the field of analytical services and food safety. She started her career in Pisa University as a researcher on food and pharmaceutical chemistry and subsequently moved to various roles in quality control, R&D and laboratory management. In her current role; she is responsible for coordinating laboratory activity, development of technical services and testing of food, food contact, consumer products and environmental samples.
Dr. Vitulla obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the Pisa University. She is a member of professional associations like the Professional Association of Chemists “Albo dei Chimici” and the” Professional Association AIBO - Food Contact Expert” (matr n°035). She is also part of the Italian Packaging Institute technical committee and cooperates with them on trainings and events.
