Topic: On-road RDE measurements – clear objectives versus idealized perceptions
Abstract: Recent months have seen significantly heightened debate over RDE (real driving emissions) measurements on public roads and WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) as the key emission measurement methodology to ensure correct and realistic fuel consumption and emission results. The common objectives are agreed as being the reduction of both, especially NOx from diesel combustion engines. Given this, the goal is now to harmonize public perceptions with the existing RDE situation by adopting a suitable approach driven by possible further international standardization measures for vehicles, including small series type approval.
