TÜV SÜD signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Experiment and Verification Center, State Grid Electric Power Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as SGEPRI), a scientific research institution. The cooperation agreement outlines cooperative research development in the areas of smart grid services, power system protection and automation, grid safety control and management, power distribution automation, and new energy.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Stepken, Chairman of the Board of Management, TÜV SÜD, led the delegation from TÜV SÜD. Mr. Zheng Yuping, Vice President and Chief Engineer of SGEPRI and Mr. Dirk von Wahl, President & CEO of TÜV SÜD Greater China signed the agreement.
SGEPRI is affiliated with the Nari Group Corporation. TÜV SÜD provided testing for various products in power system protection and automation for NARI, as well as international certification services. In addition, the two organisations joined forces to organise a series of public trainings on smart grid services concerning international standards, testing and international certification. Therefore, TÜV SÜD will gain technical knowledge in the research areas covered by the strategic cooperation agreement through a joint research effort with the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute.
