The IEC Technical Committee has created a new 'hazard-based' standard which would cover IEC 60065 (audio, video and similar electronic apparatus) and IEC 60950-1 (information technology equipment). The new standard covers products that fall in those standards and is not a simple of merger of them but an entirely new standard that has no similarity.
