TÜV SÜD Product Service in the UK has made a significant investment in its SAR service, purchasing a new SPEAG cDASY6 SAR test platform. This follows TÜV SÜD Japan’s 2013 investment in the latest SAR testing equipment and delivers a single-point SAR testing capability in Europe to support RF device manufacturers wishing to market their products globally.
Several innovations in the cDASY6 software significantly reduce SAR assessment time helping TÜV SÜD to minimise time to market for customers’ new products. The new test platform also increases the scope of TÜV SÜD’s testing capacities, allowing it to test a wider range of RF-enabled device types and sizes beyond mobile phones, including tablets and lower frequency devices.
Increased global regulation
The investment follows the tightening of global compliance requirements relating to SAR, from regulation bodies such as the Federal Communications Commission in the USA, Industry Canada and JIS (Japan Industrial Standards). TÜV SÜD’s telecoms specialists simplify the entire regulation process. This is backed up by the unrivalled industry expertise of TÜV SÜD BABT, which has more than 30 years’ experience in the telecoms market and is one of the world’s leading Telecommunications Certification Bodies.
