TÜV SÜD launches new online food hygiene training platform
As part of our ongoing efforts to foster greater expertise in safe food handling processes and procedures, the TÜV SÜD Food Safety Institute is pleased to announce the launch of a new online food hygiene training platform for food preparation professionals.
Providing new and current employees with thorough and effective training on safe food handling is an essential requirement for operators of food production, catering and hospitality operations. However, conventional approaches to training, such as sending employees to classes or conducting on-site training, can be costly and difficult to schedule without interrupting normal business operations.
TÜV SÜD’s new online training platform "Fit for Hygiene" offers employers of food operations an effective and convenient method to train employees on critical food safety issues. "Fit for Hygiene" consists of 50 separate web-based learning modules covering a variety of food safety and hygiene topics, from basic skills to advanced knowledge levels.
Specific module topics in the "Fit for Hygiene" curriculum includes hygiene science, prevention and control of food contamination, safe food storage and effective cleaning of food preparation and storage equipment. In addition, the curriculum also includes extensive training on hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) systems. Module content is regularly updated by TÜV SÜD’s resident food safety experts to reflect the most current information available. Taken together, the "Fit for Hygiene" online training platform offers one of the most extensive and diverse curriculum on safe food handling available anywhere.
In addition to the breadth of training available, individual modules in the "Fit for Hygiene" programme have been specifically created to actively engage the learner and foster knowledge development. Modules are designed for maximum visual interest, and each module ends with a short self-assessment on the key principles that have been presented to help reinforce important concepts. Modules are approximately four to six minutes in length, allowing an individual learner to complete several modules in a single session.
Access to the "Fit for Hygiene" platform is available 24 hours a day, giving both employers and learners the ultimate flexibility in scheduling training. And employees who complete the training curriculum are given a Certificate of Attendance in recognition of their accomplishment.
The "Fit for Hygiene" online training platform is available to employers and individuals through a number of different licensing options, as follows:
Basic package — The basic licensing package provide employers with access to the main 29 training modules on the "Fit for Hygiene" platform. This package offers key knowledge on the general requirements in the food hygiene.
Complete package — The complete licensing package gives employers unlimited access to more than 50 modules on the "Fit for Hygiene" platform, extending the programme to more specific needs for specific industries.
Individual package — Individuals can license a selected range of modules at the "Fit for Hygiene" platform. The training platform can also be personalised to include your company’s logo into the ‘Fit for Hygiene’ modules.
In addition to the above licensing options, employers can also develop a hygiene safety curriculum customised to their specific training requirements, including proprietary content such as videos. The customised training platform can be further personalised by including a company’s unique logo and corporate identity, and individual training modules can be provided in a wide range of languages to help ensure training success regardless of location.
