On 10 May 2016, CQC implemented the latest standard, CQC11-462196-2016: Safety certification rules for Connection set of conductive charging for electric vehicles (Charging coupler), to replace CQC11-462196-2012.
Below are the main requirements of the latest standard:
Certified products involved: Connection set of conductive charging for electric vehicles (029001)
Standards to be complied with: GB/T20234.1-2015, GB/T20234.2-2015, GB/T20234.3-2015
From the date of the publication of this notification, the applicant shall comply with the latest standards to apply for the certificate.
Manufacturers with the current certificate should submit an application to update the certificate and take the differential test. CQC will issue a new test report and certificate to cover the latest standards. The renewal of certificates should be completed by 1 May 2017. If the certificates are not transferred on time, they would be postponed. If they fail to be replaced before 1 May 2018, the products will be withdrawn.
Major revision between old and new standards:
The rated current of AC Charging coupler has been modified up to 63A while the voltage of DC Charging coupler has been modified up to 1000VDC.
A separate application should be submitted for vehicles, mains and charging couplers as the Certification rules does not apply.
Standard version has been updated from GB/T20234.1-2011, GB/T20234.2-2011, GB/T20234.3-2011 to GB/T20234.1-2015, GB/T20234.2-2015, GB/T20234.3-2015.
Product description has been defined in the certification requirement of critical components: appliance switch, charging cable, etc.
New application can be submitted through Dept. 4 of CQC.
