In January 2017, we shared with you the California Proposition 65 bisphenol A (BPA) roadmap1. BPA was listed under Prop 65 as a chemical known as to cause female reproductive toxicity. There are total nineteen(19) 60-Day notice for BPA violations since May 2016 and the involved products include food contact articles and thermal receipt paper.
Two(2) BPA have reached out of court settlements under Proposition 65 in February 2017. The source of these two BPA violations came from polycarbonate glass. The reformulated products should only contain BPA content less than or equal to 1000 ppm or provide a clear and reasonable warning as an alternative. Highlights of these two cases are as follows:
